Thank you for responding to our advertisement, whatever your reasons for doing so I am sure that you will find something to interest you, at the very least you will have more information on running a B&B and about wonderful Kangaroo Island. We appreciate, that like us when we first looked at The Fig Tree, you may not have previously considered a bed and breakfast / mini motel as a business or occupation. For sure, it not for everyone but if you are seeking to secure your future with an investment that allows you to set your own income level, it may suit you as it has suited us over the last nine years. Chris and I were forced to consider our future when the falling Australian dollar made my small business unviable and I became virtually redundant. I was too young too retire and too old to find meaningful employment. When exploring various avenues we happened upon an advertisement for The Fig Tree B&B, it was not a business or occupation the were had previously considered, but we decided to explore it further, The results of that exploration are outlined on the following pages. Chris and I are quite passionate about The Fig Tree B&B, it has been our home and lifestyle for nearly 9 years, Why are we leaving? Well to put it bluntly, we are now both over 70 and as Chris tells me “You don’t have a lot of time to show me all of those things that you promised me 50 years ago. “
We would like to share our passion for The Fig Tree and would be only too pleased to show you around. If you are genuinely interested, we could meet you at either the ferry wharf or airport, and show you why we are so passionate about The Fig Tree, and why our guest love the Fig Tree experience.
